According to U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams, anyone can make a mask at home using items such as a hand towel, a bandanna, or an old T-shirt. However, these fabrications alone are really only effective for keeping germs from getting out. In other words, they’re good at halting the spread of germs from a sick person to a healthy one. Without added layers of protection, though, they aren’t likely to actually protect healthy people from breathing dangerous germs in.
That’s where filters come in, and this pack of 7 N95 filters provides you with maximum protection for an entire week. What does maximum protection mean? N95 filters can filter out 95% of solid particles, which means they can be effective against coronavirus*.
The ‘N95’ designation means that when subjected to careful testing, the respirator blocks at least 95 percent of very small (0.3 micron) test particles.
Since these are N95 filters, not N95 masks, using these won’t be taking vital PPE away from our first responders.
Please note, our N95 filters are much thicker than our PM2.5 filters. This will affect the look of your face mask.
* 3M™ Particulate Filters (5N11) can filter out 95% of solid particles when used with the correctly paired N95 respirator. If properly fitted, the filtration capabilities of N95 respirators exceed those of face masks. We do not guarantee the same capabilities when used with a fabric mask due to the lack of a proper facial seal.
